About Me

I'm Susan Morris

Susan Morris loves creating art that tells a story, captures a special moment, or passes along a treasured memory. Her attention to detail and use of color help create her unique style.  She prefers working with professional-grade colored pencils but also enjoys pastels and pen & ink.

Susan discovered her love for colored pencil artwork a bit later in life than some and is primarily self-taught.  Not only is creating art a passion for her, but she believes it is also a calling.

Susan's work has been published in professional magazines and books and can be found in homes across the US and Internationally.  She offers original artwork as well as commission and illustration services.  She also offers products such as prints, mugs, and notecards featuring her artwork.

Mission and Vision

Susan’s mission is to inspire, encourage, and comfort others through realistic artwork that tells a story, captures a special moment, shares a memory, or sparks a dream.  To create artwork that connects with and inspires others on a level that provokes thought and emotion is at the heart of her vision.  Added to that is the desire to present the artwork in a style that is unique, recognizable, long-lasting, and in such a way that her joy in creating the work passes on to those who see the artwork.

Commission and Illustration Work

Susan loves creating commissioned work.  She finds it challenging and rewarding.  Her attention to detail and color makes her commissions truly unique and true to the subject drawn.  But the thing that is best for her is working with her clients on the project and their joy and happiness with the final work of art.

In 2022, Susan had her first opportunity to illustrate a children’s book, “The Diving Cats of Bucerias” written by Robin LaDue and published in June 2022.  She soon realized she had found yet another exciting artistic avenue to explore.  Shortly after the completion of this project, she was invited to illustrate “Rainforest Fairies” by Italia Pierfederici which was published in late July 2022.

My art business has been designated as a "Trusted Art Seller" with The Art Storefronts Organization, which means you can shop with confidence, and know that I stand behind the quality and value of my products.
